I don't know which it was supposed to be most like from the choices that you tested above-- it was mostly like a gelatinous, snot-like spread that was flavored with the worst fake peanut flavor imaginable (it was also very light in color.)

I tell people that it was the most disgusting thing that I have ever put in my mouth that was meant to be food.

Re: Localizing Oatmeal

"...the image that the Quaker Marketing Department in Japan chose was…oatmeal in the mushroom risotto style. Riiiight...I think oatmeal would sell well in Japan the same way it does in America if it were marketed in the same way...So – do you think the image / ingredients changes worked?"

If your question is directed at Americans/westerners, to see if the marketing/product localization worked for them, then it's a valid question. But if your question is more general, as in does it work for the local population (Japanese) and Quaker Oats' success, then you have missed the point entirely. If the latter, of course it worked for the local population and to Quaker's success! That's what marketing is all about...tailoring products to local tastes and demand. They wouldn't be selling it if the local preferences/demands didn't call for it or continue to sell it if it if it hasn't been successful.

Re: Eating People

mongolian warriors will find you, and kill you...

Re: Mythbusters and Doro-Dango

Thanks you for giving me such great information.Appreciate your page, good reading, thanks.

Re: A Humble Request: 頼むよ！お願いします！

Where is your wedding going to be? You might try checking around- if she goes to Bridal shows near where you are going to be hitched, she can enter into lots of things- there's only a small pool of people who go to these shows, and if it doesn't cover photography, it will cover flowers, cakes, catering, venues, ect.

I know I'm months and months late, but hopefully that will be a little helpful? (PS, I'm in a long distance relationship too- I know how stressful it can get! I think it's a really
sensitive issue. The problem is that while many people want the Futenma base
gone, it is strongly linked with the local economy. Many peoples'
livelihoods depend on the base or the circumstances arising out of having
the base. So there are pro-base and anti-base Japanese citizens there. But
there are also pro-base and anti-base US citizens. Many people think it's
strange to keep so many of our military men and women in friendly countries.
It seems wasteful and all. But then it's argued that it's part of a careful
strategy to maintain a presence in the region. Japan's a strong US ally, but
the JSDF, as technologically advanced and capable as they are, are bound by
laws which complicate their rules of engagement. Some think having the US
military there is a show of friendship and solidarity. Some think it's petty
paternalism over a country that the US effectively disarmed and de-fanged.
The reality of the situation is enough to see prime ministers unseated.

Re: Setsubun Protest

Learn Kanji says: Well, very interesting indeed... but I hope everything turns out ok.
